Who is Hippie Biker Chick?

Who is Hippie Biker Chick? Some may say that I am because I created her. I would argue that Hippie Biker Chick has been around much longer than me. Some might say that Janis Joplin was the first Hippie Biker Chick. My Mom is a Hippie Biker Chick. She grew up in the 60’s in Eureka Springs Arkansas and rode a bike. How much more of a Hippie Biker Chick can you get?

I had this great idea. I was going to make this cool little bag store on my property that’s located on the main vein coming into Eureka Springs Arkansas.

I started buying bags and filling out applications to go to festivals. As the months went on, I kept feeling this stronger urge to do things a specific way. I didn’t know it at the time, but I had given birth to this beautiful being and she began to tell me how she wanted it ran and what her taste were.
I would go to the market and pick up a shirt. I would hear her say, “No way, you aren’t putting that in my store.” I have to give it to her, the chick has taste and she knows what she wants.

Because she is a universal personality, she is in all of us, well, ok, maybe not all of us! She gives us the outlet to express what our soul is feeling. Sometimes we are carefree and want to put feathers in our hair and wear flowy clothes, sometimes we feel rowdy and courageous. We tell the world how we feel by the clothing that we wear. I’m a firm believer if you don’t express what you are feeling, it will find ways to escape.  Give your feelings an outlet and they are much more manageable. They are also a good indicator of what is going on inside you.

This journey with Hippie Biker Chick has been a life changing season for me. She has taught me so much about standing up for who I am and not caring what other people think. She’s helped me to express parts of my personality that have been dormant. She makes me feel like I’m one with my bike. I hold my head up a little higher these days. I’ve worked hard to make her dream come true. She wanted to give us all an outlet to express ourselves. The good, the bad, the sexy, the classy, and, ok, I’m just going to say it, the slutty side of us as well. We may not feel comfortable expressing that on our bike, but we can take it home and express it in the privacy of our homes.

So you ask, “Who is Hippie Biker Chick?” If you desire to get on two wheels or three wheels, if you desire to get your hair in the wind, if you desire to be different from the crowd and express how you fee; you my friend, are Hippie Biker Chick. Wear her well and she will honor you with happiness and the best time you have ever have. For when you honor the Hippie Biker Chick inside of you, you are giving expression to your very soul.
